The Danvers Food Pantry is currently looking for toilet paper, paper towels, body wash, and non-perishable food items. If you are in the position to give to others this year, please bring your items to the library, and we'll drop them at the Danvers Food Pantry.


McLean County Master Gardener, Kelly Garrett, will be at the library on Thursday, November 20th at 5:30 p.m. to teach us all about Kitchen Scrap Gardening: Gardening without Buying Seeds.
Discover how to start a garden from kitchen food scraps, including germinating seeds in potting mix and propagating plant pieces in water. Then, take that knowledge and move those plant starts into the soil using different planting options.

Join us for T is for Thanksgiving Story Time on Tuesday, November 25 @1 p.m. at the library!
We'll start with a few activities and songs and then settle in for a couple of interactive stories all about Thanksgiving!
This is a free activity at the library and is intended for preschool-aged children. Registration is required so that we can prepare the adequate amount of materials.

On Danvers Tree Lighting night, stop by the library to make your own gingerbread house! This activity is free and is for children of all ages.
We will also have our Christmas elves helping to wrap books for gifts that night.

We will have a table set up with wrapping supplies for you to wrap your holiday gifts. No registration necessary, just stop while we're open December 13—24th.
This program will be available while supplies last. If you have holiday wrapping supplies that you're no longer using, and would like to donate them to our wrapping station, please bring them by the library, and we'll put them to use!

Join McLean County Museum of History Librarian, Bill Kemp, for an overview of local Underground Railroad history on Monday, December 15th at 6:30 p.m. at the library.
Too often this key chapter in U.S. history has been obscured by legend and lore. Bill will separate fact from fiction and delve into real stories of freedom seekers on the Underground Railroad passing through McLean County.

Do you need help wrapping your gifts this year due to unforeseen difficulties or a physical limitation? We can help!
Simply bring your wrapping supplies and gifts to the library on Tuesday, December 23rd, and our Christmas elves will help you wrap them.
While advanced registration is not required, priority will be given to those who have registered for a certain timeslot. We will try to accommodate walk-ins if time allows.

The Historians, Reading Throughout the Ages, will emerge in January 2026. Each year, we’ll explore a different century by reading texts written during the time period and modern texts that take place within it.
In 2026, we’ll travel back to the 16th century, where the death of the Renaissance and the birth of the Protestant Reformation intertwine.
The Historians meet on the third Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m.
This book club will be limited to 10 people, and advanced registration will be required for each meeting with priority registration offered at each monthly meeting.
